Gochujang Tofu Bites

Get ready to take your tofu game to the next level with the ultimate secret weapon: Gochujang! This incredible red chili paste isn't just a flavour explosion, it's also the perfect marinade for your tofu. Picture this: the savoury, sweet, and spicy notes of Gochujang into the delicate tofu, creating a delicious flavour explosion. Gochujang has a rich umami and subtle heat flavour, and it’s the perfect way to transform plain tofu into a masterpiece.


Simple Gochujang Tofu recipe:

Ingredients:
1 block of tofu, cut into 1cm cubes
2 Tbsp cornstarch
1 Tbsp sesame oil

Sauce:
2 Tbsp gochujang paste
2 Tbsp maple syrup
2 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp garlic
1 tsp ginger

To serve:
White rice
Spring onion
Sesame seeds

If you want to add in veggies, I recommend: Cauliflower, Broccoli, Red onion, Capsicum or fresh cucumber on the side!

Method:
1. Heat a pan on the stove with a dash of sesame oil.
2. Toss together tofu, cornstarch and sesame oil.
3. Fry for 3 minutes until golden.
4. Mix together gochujang sauce, and pour over the tofu.
5. Fold for 2-3 minutes, seasoning with salt and pepper.
6. Serve on white rice with sliced spring onion and sesame seeds.
